Dr. Katherine Kosche, a Chicago native, performed her undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana. She then attended Columbia University where she earned her Ph.D. in Genetics. Her doctoral research used the techniques of molecular biology to study the regulation of human globin (blood) genes. After completing her Ph.D., Dr. Kosche was admitted to the University of Miami School of Medicine, graduating in 1989.

Dr. Kosche did her internship and residency training in Internal Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx. She was a member of the faculty at Albert Einstein School of Medicine for 2 years, and then completed her Fellowship in Gastroenterology at Montefiore and Albert Einstein in 1996.

Practicing gastroenterology in Pembroke Pines, Florida since 1996, Dr. Kosche is on the medical staff of the Memorial Healthcare System and also performs procedures at Weston Outpatient Surgical Center. Dr. Kosche has a good working command of Spanish. She has been married for 23 years and she and her husband have a teenage daughter.


Michaela Hernandez PA-C, was born in Lima, Peru and is fluent in English & Spanish. She graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy from Florida International University in 1994. She was employed for several years at Jackson Memorial Hospital in this capacity.

 She then earned a Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Florida in 2001. She has extensive experience in patient care in the specialites of gastroenterology and cardiology.
